Adam Wacks is a NYC-based drummer and alumnus of the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. He developed his skills at the Montclair-based organization Jazz House Kids, where he then worked as a teaching assistant at summer workshops. While attending school in NYC, he performed with several ensembles and studied under jazz legends such as Billy Drummond, Kenny Washington, and Buster Williams. Adam was a member of the project Sonder, which won the 2025 Detroit Jazz Festival Collegiate Combo Competition, allowing him to perform at the Dirty Dog Jazz Café and the 2025 Detroit Jazz Festival. He was also a regular performer in the show Sleep No More and has worked extensively as a sideman on the East Coast, performing at venues such as Dizzy’s Club, Bar Bayeux, Café Bohemia, Chris’ Jazz Café, the South Orange Performing Arts Center, and the Montclair Jazz Festival.
